Details   Aurora Amber Bas Relief pendant (cameo)-  Homer spoke of Eos, "a child of morning, rosy-fingered dawn..." Surely we have found her. In ancient Roman mythology Aurora, goddess of the dawn, renews herself every morning and flies across the sky, announcing the arrival of the sun. Poetry runs in her family. She has two siblings, a brother (Sol, the sun) and a sister (Luna, the moon) as well as four children, The Winds. This lovely amber nymph the color of sunrise itself is carved in the Greek manner from a glowing translucent lump of honey colored amber. Contains a gentle drift of cloudy milky amber, which provides even more depth & dimension to the carving.  Absolutely one of a kind, this design can never be replicated. Heirloom, even museum quality. An incredibly beautiful piece of amber, made even more lovely by the artist's hand. Less a cameo, more of a figurine or bas relief set into a sleek sterling silver frame. Backed in lightly texturized sterling silver.
