Rings tend to signify secret meanings known only to the wearer or giver. They are often (but not always) given or specially chosen to mark special moments or feelings. As with bracelets, part of the basic pleasure of wearing a ring is that it may be gazed at & enjoyed on the hand of the wearer...by the wearer. And seeing it tends to remind the person wearing it of whoever gave it to them. :)
