2010 is the 200th Anniversary of Frederic Chopin. We are pleased to present to you our Chopin Amber Collection. Modeled on traditional forms & materials, yet using innovations within that classic structure, these selections speak of a time & a place as much at home in the 21st century as in the 19th. Each design in this delightful medley is one of a kind & entirely hand fabricated from beginning to end. It emphasizes fine classical honey & cognac shades of amber. Each piece draws upon floral motifs such as the lily & employs a liberal use of flourishes & antique sterling silver finishes to create romantic, traditional designs that delight the senses.
Although Chopin composed almost exclusively for the piano, the naturally rich, warm, eye pleasing cognac & cherry amber colors of the Chopin Collection also remind us of the enduring, exotic rich natural colorings of fine handcrafted instruments such as violins. One upon a time these instruments themselves were literally covered in amber, because amber, a natural preservative, was long ago used as an element in creating "lack" or lacquer, which was then applied as a finish to the instruments.
