Amber Known to mineralogists as succinite, is polymerized fossil resin from ancient trees which lived 30-90 million years ago. It is an organic plastic. Amber is not, as is commonly thought, pine sap, but rather the much more prolific vascular tissue of the trees.
1. An alloy of 92.5 percent pure silver with copper or another metal. The minimum millesimal fineness is 925.
