Baltic Amber Earrings: “ Popinkys” are a salute to the humble mushroom. Growing up in northeastern Pennsylvania, “Popinky” is code for mushrooms. My grandmother was an expert forager, finding mushrooms in abandoned city lots and around old coal mining breakers. Later in life, as I walked the streets in the lovely Polish autumn, I saw vendors selling baskets of fresh beautiful mushrooms in open air markets.
